that we always have. The

There have
been several improvements with the second, third and now fourth generations of
Tablet PCs. Tablet PC's longer battery life gives us more freedom to do
what we need to do when we need to do it. We're free to take our
computers into meetings and classrooms and to take notes the way that's
most familiar, by writing. Centrino technology has improved this
so that more powerful processors can be used with little or no loss of
battery life compared to lower powered CPUs. Now, several Tablets
offer dual core technology and at least one model offers Tablet
functionality in a lightweight, notebook form.
Pioneer
manufacturers are continuing to produce newer, full-featured models with
widely varied configurations to match almost anyone's needs. We're
seeing Tablets in a clamshell models from both Panasonic and Fujitsu.
More and
more manufacturers are joining the Tablet PC team to provide a greater
selection as more software is being developed to work with ink.
Better
wireless support allows us to log on to networks more easily than ever,
with built in firewire and 802.11a/b or g. And all this convenience
comes packaged in a 3 pound computer that's not much bigger than a paper
tablet.
The Tablet
PC frees us from our desktops. We no longer need to balance a
notebook on our knees as we struggle to pay attention and type at the
same time. Now, there are models that can be used in full sun as
well.
Those who
don't type have the option to use handwriting to enter data.
Others may prefer speech input, or a combination of both. We're
free to take our computers into meetings and classrooms and to take
notes the way that's most familiar, by writing.
